Karugane Akari - Website

The official website for ceramic artist Akari Karugane. Built around an archive of her exhibitions in Japan and abroad — organized by year, month, region, and venue — the site keeps the quiet presence of her work at its centre through a minimal, space-led layout. The Exhibitions, Commissions, Stockists, and Profile sections are all delivered bilingually in Japanese and English. The detail we cared about most is the main animation on the landing page. Countless particles, rendered as fine as grains of sand, scatter across the screen and are slowly drawn together until they resolve into a photograph of an actual piece — a single vessel coming into focus. Grains gathering into a vessel, just as raw earth becomes a finished work in the artist's hands.

陶芸作家 故金あかり（Akari Karugane）のオフィシャルウェブサイト。国内外で精力的に発表される展示活動を年・月・地域・会場とともに一覧化し、サイトの中心に「EXHIBITIONS アーカイブ」を据えた。作品の静けさと佇まいを損なわないよう、余白を生かしたミニマルな構成とし、EXHIBITIONS / COMMISSIONS / STOCKISTS / PROFILE の各セクションを日英バイリンガルで設計している。 最もこだわったのは、トップページのメインアニメーション。極限まで細かくした無数の粒子を砂粒に見立て、画面に散らばった粒がゆっくりと引き寄せ合いながら、やがて一点の作品の写真——器の像——を結んでいく。ばらばらの粒子が陶器の姿へと立ち上がる様は、土という素材から作品が生まれる作家の制作プロセスそのものを重ねたものだ。
