untitled, 旅荷を解いて

"untitled, 旅荷を解いて" (untitled, unpacking the travel luggage) is a video-and-sound installation first shown in 2022. Like unpacking one's bags after a journey, the work takes as its subject the slow unfolding of the experiences gathered over a life so far. The video is placed simply to be watched in quiet. The sound, by contrast, is produced by a program that keeps generating audio in response to the climate and weather, so the same resonance never repeats — the shifting conditions outside continually shape the sound within the space. Unfolding the past, and a sound that keeps arising in the present: the work stands as a place where the two quietly overlap.

本作《untitled, 旅荷を解いて》は、2022年に発表した映像とサウンドによるインスタレーション。旅から戻って荷をほどくように、これまでの人生で積み重ねてきた経験を少しずつ解いていく——その時間を主題にしている。 映像は、静かに見つめるために置かれている。いっぽう音は、気候や天気に応じて生成され続けるプログラムによって鳴り、同じ響きが二度と繰り返されることはない。移り変わる外界の条件が、そのまま空間の音をかたちづくっていく。 過去を解きほぐしていくことと、いま絶え間なく立ち上がり続ける音。本作は、そのふたつが静かに重なり合う場として立ち上がる。
